Can the texture peel off?

No. The texture is etched directly into the stainless steel. A high pressure jet of air and abrasives impacts the steel at over 500 mph. This process creates a permanent grippy texture.

Is the metal grippy?

Yes. The stainless steel is textured with a heavy grit sand blast. This creates a grippy texture that holds chalk but isn't wear down your skin. It feels just like sandstone.

How do I clean the pinch?  

Stainless steel is easy to clean. You can use dish soap and hot water. You can even throw the edge in the dishwasher.
